We are always interested in hearing from 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th grade teachers who have the passion, devotion, and tenacity necessary to help make the school and its students extraordinary. The teachers of KIPP Charlotte must have a love of children and be willing to commit to working the long hours necessary to pursue our mission. We seek educators who are data-driven, innovative, and relentless. Teachers must be committed to the idea that every student will learn and make no excuses concerning a student’s educational history or demographic background. They must act on their beliefs that children have unlimited potential and that there are no shortcuts to success. Preference will be given to licensed, highly qualified teachers.

The Program

KIPP Charlotte is a member of the acclaimed Knowledge is Power Program (KIPP), a national network of open enrollment, tuition-free, college preparatory public charter schools. KIPP schools are structured around the Five Pillars of success: high expectations, choice and commitment, more time, power to lead, and focus on results. (See “About us” page.) Parents, students, and teachers sign a contract that spells out the expectations of being part of the KIPP Team and Family. Our well-structured reward and discipline program ensures that students meet these expectations.

In the fall of 2007, KIPP Charlotte opened its doors to its first class of 90 fifth graders. The school now serves 360 students in grades five through eight. The mission of KIPP Charlotte is to prepare all of our students to thrive in the nation’s finest high schools and colleges by cultivating the habits of mind, character skills, and knowledge necessary for their success. We will provide an education which enables them to lead full lives and will empower our students to be the future leaders of Charlotte and agents of change in the world beyond.

If there is a problem, we look for a solution.
If there is a better way, we find it.
If a teammate needs help, we give.
If we need help, we ask.
